What is Virtual Counselling?
Online counselling occurs when you and the Psychologist engage in a therapeutic conversation on the internet in real-time. We use zoom to do our online counselling, which can be used with a video or without. It is recommended video is used to create a more transparent relationship between Psychologist and client. Each online session lasts 55 minutes or up to 90 minutes for relationship counselling and other special circumstances. The Psychologist will start by asking for a description of your situation and then will discuss strategies to assist you to cope better, change or help you put in place achievable goals The Psychologist may request that you do some exercises toward the end of the session. All worksheets and extra written information can be shared with you on the screen during the zoom call and will also be emailed to you after each session.

How does it work?
Please book a convenient time through our booking portal. Once you have booked your session please email us at admin@revivepsychology.com.au to advise your session is virtual. We will then send you the zoom link and payment details.

Once a day and time are confirmed, your Psychologist will be online waiting for you on your agreed appointment time and day. It is as simple as clicking on the link you are sent and putting in the password. Once you have logged in the Psychologist will meet you online to begin your session.

How much does it cost?
Individual Sessions: $225 (55 minute Session)
Couple Counselling:$240 (55 minute Session)
Couple Counselling:$350 (90 minute Session)

What are the technical requirements?
You will need a reliable internet connection and be able to send and receive emails.

What are the advantages of virtual counselling?
-Convenient, easy access, fast, and flexible. You can do it when you want and where you want. There is no need to travel anywhere if you have a good internet connection at home. Particularly beneficial for those who have a busy life schedule and/or travel a lot, live remotely.
-For those who are uncomfortable with face-to-face counselling, online is a good introduction to the experience.

Can I claim the costs of health insurance?
You will need to consult your health insurance about this. Telehealth is typically covered by both Medicare and health providers. The costs could also be possibly covered by your ' employee assistance program' or wellbeing benefits scheme at your workplace. Enquire with them and have them contact us if they have any questions. Psychologists are eligible for medicare rebates upon a referral from a GP.

Information on the Mental Health Care Plan.
Individuals need to obtain a referral from their GP to access this plan. The plan allows individuals to receive medicare rebates for up to 20 sessions with a Psychologist or Psychiatrist. ww.health.gov.au/internet/main/publishing.nsf/Content/health-pcd-gp-mental-health-care-medicare
